Sample requirements and biological matrices

BEVITAL analyzes several biological matrices, including serum, plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, urine and whole blood for selected methods. Because matrix compatibility and minimum volume depend on the analyte and analytical platform, users should confirm sample type, available volume and study design before finalizing a panel.

Matrices we analyze

Our platforms are optimized for these matrices, with high precision and minimal sample consumption.

Serum

Accepted on all platforms except the NAD metabolome (platform J).

All platforms except J

EDTA plasma

Accepted on all platforms except the NAD metabolome (platform J). For many biomarkers this is the most stable matrix, see Sample stability.

All platforms except J

Cerebrospinal fluid

Selected analytes on platforms A, B and D.

Platforms A, B, D

Urine

Selected analytes on platform C.

Platform C

Whole blood

Used for the NAD metabolome (platform J).

Platform J

Tissue and cell extracts

On request. We adapt, validate and optimize the method for your specific extract and extraction procedure.

Volumes by analytical platform

Use this table when you build your own panel with Mix-and-Match. The total volume depends on which platforms your analytes are measured on.
